Maths IT Support

About Maths IT Support

The Maths IT team provides IT support for staff, PhD students and visitors to the School of Mathematics.

Undergraduate and MSc students should contact IS Helpline, unless your query is regarding Maths IT facilities.

  • Support queries or requests should be sent to You can view and check your open requests via the UniDesk website.
  • If you are unable to send an email or if the problem is urgent, please speak to the on call Computing Officer at the Maths IT Helpdesk: room 4210, ext. 505100.
  • For more information about IT services in the School, please visit the Maths IT Support website (requires EASE login).

Computing equipment

New staff should discuss their IT requirements with the Computing Manager, Steve Law, before or on the day of arrival.

Computing purchases

All IT equipment must be purchased via Steve. Individuals should not purchase equipment themselves without prior authorisation, expense claims for such will not be approved.

Confidential Documents

Exam papers must not be stored on hard disc or shared disc drives. They must be stored on a pen drive and kept in a locked drawer. Similarly, please ensure that all waste material is removed and disposed of confidentially when photocopying on public machines.
